Taking the time to play interactive games with your cat is not only good exercise but provides intellectual stimulation and can repair some behavioral issues as well. Since cats are instinctually hunters and still have the wild instincts of their ancestors, they love to still feel they are hunting their prey, even if it is a feather on a stick.

And if your kitty is an inside only kitty, provide an outdoor enclosure for them. If that is not possible I suggest you try walking your cat on a leash in a safe area. We have walking vests in the salon that are safe and comfortable to be used with a leash. Putting it on for a few minutes and then rewarding them with a treat extending the times each time can help.

It takes time but even cats that you didn't think would do it will be able to enjoy their outdoor time. We carry vests and leashes in the salon. Give it a try and with patience your kitty may just surprise you!
